We came in with a large party a couple weekends ago. Service was friendly and fast and my food was pretty tasty. Margaritas were good, but kinda weak. I started with an order of the cream of crab and it was not great. Hardly any crab and not that rich, buttery taste I've come to expect as a Marylander. I got a chicken quesadilla for dinner and it was average. Nothing particularly special about it, but it certainly wasn't bad.

It is 1 star short of a 5 star rating because the tequila used in the pitcher was horrible! It was of poor quality and therefore tasted horrible! The food at the restaurant was good. We had the chicken fajitas and the fundido between 2 of us. It was plenty of food! The server was very friendly. He made us the habanero hot sauce that was KILLER spicy!!! :) Overall, nice restaurant.. Good for groups.. Decently priced..

Really good chicken enchiladas. Not overly expensive either but the cheapest you could really look at (for a dinner for two) is about 30 dollars after tip. However most items are between 15-23 dollars but you do get a good portion.

Being from Arizona I have low expectations when I go to Mexican restaurants on the east coast. But I shouldn't have worried. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. Would recommend this place to amyone!

4 stars is a little generous, but felt 3 was to little. Decent Mexican food, reasonable prices. If you want some cheesy comfort food, you'll find it here. Good margaritas. Desserts looked authentic and are probably delicious, but I was too stuffed! I'd go back, but wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. They have a free parking lot for their diners which is awesome.

Drinks are strong and food is great. Sit on the balcony upstairs for a great view and breeze!

Stopped by for "brunch" here before hitting the beach...funny right? Having a Mexican feast before the beach :) My family and I arrived right when they opened at 11 AM. The food was superb. Eggs benedicto, tamales, crab omelet, shrimp/scallop omelet and crab quesadillas. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent as well. It was cool to have Mexican food at the beach. Defintely check this place out if you are at Rehoboth.

This is a very good Spanish restaurant on Wilmington Ave. Note it's SPANISH not Mexican. So try the authentic Spanish foods and don't be boring and get tacos and burritos. I promise you won't be disappointed. We've never had a bad meal here, and it's also the first place we ever saw or tasted beef tongue, It's amazing! The Duck in Pato is a beautifully seasoned half boneless duck with olives. Reasonable prices, good drinks too.

This is our second visit to this restaurant. While vacationing at the beach we grew tired of eating seafood. We saw this restaurant as we were walking down one if the small shopping streets off if Rehoboth's boardwalk. We walked in and our visit was amazing from beginning to end. I had a platter that included a cheese enchilada, a chicken burrito, rice, and black beans. My husband had the Santa Fe platter that had a chili relllano, chicken enchilada, chicken tamale, rice and pinto beans. While waiting in our meals we were given a basket of warm crispy chips and a bowl of pico de gallo that had a little kick. It wasn't long before our meals were served. It was delusions from the first bite until the last. It is authentic Mexican food. I tried my husbands tamale and it was the best I've ever had. We finished with a dessert of Sopapillas. They were the perfect end to an authentic Mexican meal. The service is outstanding. You don't want to miss this taste of Mexico !

What an amazing meal and the service was almost better. We were a large group of 9 and Yolanda and her staff were extremely accommodating. Food was tasty fresh and ample. We were able to share as well. Can't wait to return in 2016!

Not a bad place, but also nothing really special. Me and my girlfriend both had vegetable fajitas for 16 bucks. The food looked a little old, like it has been in fridge premade for couple of days. It tasted like leftovers which I didn't like! On the other hand it was quite a large portion of vegetables. The guacamole and sour cream portions were like from Somalia - super small! I would like to mention that we had a great service from the staff! They were very nice!

Very good. The chips & salsa were yummy, amazing house salad, tasty chicken quesadilla for kids. I ordered a combo with a chicken tamale, chicken enchilada, and cheese chile rellno (sp). All tasty. The top deck patio was comfy. Would go back for sure!

Read all the reviews prior to actually eating there. Funny thing is the good reviews were all top notch, and yet, the majority of the bad reviews complained about bad service. We arrived at 6:20, when our reservation was for 6:00. The place was starting to fill, but we were seated right away and Fernando immediately took our drink orders. Within five minutes he came back and took our dinner orders. In less than ten minutes our orders arrived, hot and ready to eat. The food was good and plentiful. I don't really under the preponderance of bad reviews and vicious complaints regarding service. We were treated with respect, admiration and a seemingly genuine concern for our patronage. We spent over $100.00 that night and have no real complaints. Service: very good Food:: quality, appearance and taste good Overall: B Would recommend : yes

It's difficult to critique an establishment that employs an admirable amount of young adults but truth be told, let's begin. We chose them specifically because they have outdoor patio seating snd we were able to make a reservation for eight. Upon arrival the hostess came running up to us like a Speedy Gonzalez, from who knows where next door. With an impish smile she informed us that our table would be another twenty minutes and, btw, "we don't take reservations for outdoors. She then suggested we take a seat at the bar to make things easier for her. After a pitcher of margaritas and a couple cervezas, it was pointed out that our table was ready. With no offer of water on this hot muggy night, our apps and drinks were ordered. Quicker than expected, our apps arrived, still with no offer of water, and with no plates. I don't want to invest anymore time thinking or talking about this place so I'll simply say it's decent, touristy-quality food in a crowded, touristy dining room at fair touristy prices.

Where's the mariachi band? For some reason I'm thinking of Antonio Banderas playing the guitar and coming out with 2 guns blasting when I hear the word mariachi. I watch too many movies apparently. Anyways on to the restaurant. We went during Memorial Day weekend with 2 kids and another couple with 2 young kids. We made it work! Can't stop us from hanging outside and sipping margaritas! Really nice looking restaurant with two floors. We sat outside on the second level on a sort of balcony/terrace which was nice. Something about eating outdoors that I love. So not everything we ordered was great but I'll just review my dish since that's all I ate. I had the carne asada which was tender and had great flavor. The margaritas were pretty delicious too but not sure if it's because I've had a long day with the kids. The restaurant's decor is typical Mexican style. The outside is pink which doesn't appeal to me personally but doesn't bother me either. Great change of pace beach restaurant! The Good: - food was good depending on what you get. Carne asada was great, my friend said her lomo saltado was dry. - margaritas on point! - great second floor outdoor seating - prob good for wedding receptions - great service The Bad: - pink lots of pink decor - no mariachi band or Antonio Banderas

The Best Spanish/Mexican food in Rehoboth Beach!!! Friendly service and OUTSTANDING all around! If you are looking for the BEST hands down true fresh, not frozen make sure to check it out.

My friend and I showed up pretty late but they had no reservations about seating us. The food was so so. The drinks were not super. The service was outstanding. Its nice to get off the beaten path from time to time and experience something new. This is not a place you should visit if you are in a time crunch but a friendly location for friends and family to gather.

The food was well prepared and delicious. The service was excellent. There was no trouble adjusting a dish to my liking. The wait was quick and we were able to relax and enjoy. The artwork, which was amazing, was done by the owner's late brother and lends a beautiful feeling to the ambiance.

A great restaurant by the ocean for moderately priced food. This is a fantastic place to bring your family from the beach for delicious food and great service. The deck is facing Wilmington-and has fans to cool you off on a warm day. The food is delicious and has yummy foods for both children and adults. All in all I highly recommend this amazing restaurant by the ocean!

The best Mexican restaurant in Rehoboth Beach bar non! Not only can you taste the authenticity in the food but, you can see, hear and feel it in the staff. You know what you're in for as soon as you taste the nacho's & salsa. True gem.

This place turned out to be perfect for date night. My boyfriend and I went around 8pm and were seated outside immediately (try to get a seat outside when the weather is nice, as the inside did seem like it could get noisy with small children). We ordered the Paella de Mariscos and the Lomo saltado...both were delicious and big portions. We also had great mango mojitos that we could tell were made with fresh ingredients and the fried ice cream for dessert. We were so full at the end that ordering just one ice cream was more than enough. It is a bit expensive for a young couple (the total came close to $100 for just the two of us) but the food and service made the price worth it. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. It was overall a great experience and we will definitely come back when we crave Spanish cuisine.

So so service, so so Mexican. I always torture myself as a Texan trying TexMex outside of Texas, it never turns out well.

3.5 STARS to be exact. We had a party of 8 for a mid week lunch and it was dead in there. Our server seemed a little slow considering there really wasn't anyone else to serve. Everyone I was with seemed happy with their food but I was definitely disappointed in there mixed green salad which was actually a cup of shredded Iceberg lettuce lol. I guess I had it coming for ordering a salad at a Mexican restaurant but still!

Good food, awesome owner The food was very good. Highly recommend the paella and the fajita. Server was too busy. Owner noticed and she really made up for it. Definitely coming back here

Came on a busy Friday night without a reservation but the hostesses were very nice and accommodated my family. Our waitress was attentive and the food arrived quickly. Everyone enjoyed their meals which were full of flavor. Great margarita selection. We dined on the outdoor deck which added ambiance to our meal. I highly recommend it!

  • Joseph J.

The service was mediocre. Took a while to refill drinks, which had minimal alcohol. The chips were stale. However, the tacos & humus were okay and the upstairs has a nice view of the area. I was really expecting this place to be better unfortunately.

I stopped in here as a last minute decision and we loved it. The papusas app was to die for and the plato verde was delicious. Would definitely come again if I get the chance.

Had the seafood fajitas and they were fantastic. Beef burrito was good but the beef nachos were bad. Nice place and service was excellent.

Really enjoyed! Fantastic food - We had queso fundido con cherizo as an appetizer. For our meal I had flank steak, the kids had quesadillas and my wife had a salad. All was great. The service was really superior - very attentive and our entres came right as we were finishing the appetizer.

Great Mexican/Spanish place located only about 80 yards from the boardwalk. This is the third time I have been here and am finally writing a review. I have never been disappointed with the food here. Always flavorful, always hot, and the prices are reasonable for the area. Atmosphere is casual and noise level is average. They have a spacious dining area on the first and second floors, with outdoor deck seating on the second floor as well. I will say the deck area needs a little face-lift work (broken/missing party lights over head and such), but nothing too severe. The location is close enough to be 'in the action' and accessible from the beach, however, it's tucked away down on Wilmington Ave and can be missed if you aren't looking for it. My only gripe, albeit a small one, is the lack of music (and we were on the deck for Cinco De Mayo). Sure it's not a big deal, but it would've really nice to have something heard overhead. Pretty much all we head was the laughter of 2 other tables and a loud delivery truck backing down the street. All in all, great place for the money. Will be going back.

This place is amazing. My wife had the seafood enchiladas which apparently are to die for, i didn't get a bite :(. I had the carne asada cooked medium and it was great as well. I also ordered

Me and my girlfriend went to this place because of the good reviews and it didn't disappoint. The food was greatly and fairly priced. The margaritas were awesome and the service was fantastic. My only gripe with the restaurant was the lack of spicy foods to choose from. That's me nit picking otherwise I highly recommend it!

What I really enjoy about Rehoboth is the close proximity from the beach to your hotel as well as restaurants and other shopping. As a result, we were able to crawl out of the ocean and have a nice pleasant lunch at a sit down restaurant without leaving our blankets unattended for too long. Prices for lunch/brunch were good. 2 plates of huervos rancheros and tip came to about $20. Open air seating upstairs is a nice touch for people watching as well. Service was quick, pleasant and I had enough left over that I could go back to my hotel room, pop it in the fridge and had breakfast the next day. A good choice with decent, authentic Mexican flavor.

I previously found the food mediocre. But tonight it was fairly good. I had the Plato verse with a guacamole taco and black beans. My friend had the Mariano salad.

  • Tracy M.

Great atmosphere but very loud. The food was good but not fantastic. Margaritas were weak and watered down but the beer was cold and reasonable. They didn't have any sauces outside of their own recipe which was very hot. I liked it but it needed to be used sparingly. The only burrito was one in a combo. The chips and salsa, while complimentary, weren't very good. The outside seating made it nice. Would probably return because of the location and atmosphere.

This local restaurant was highly recommended by our housemates, who've been going here for years. The first recommendation - try to get seated upstairs on the deck. It's really a lovely place to sit, and with the fans going and the breeze off the ocean it's pretty nice! Our server was dealing with a couple of large groups as this was the start of dinner rush, but he never faltered in his smile or charm. The ice tea stayed filled. We split the plantains, which we really liked. And, to my surprise - they have a very clear gluten free menu with many excellent options. So, I had the Carne Asada (steak with guacamole), which includes yellow rice and black beans as sides. Very large and certainly filling. It was tender, and cooked the way I like it - just barely medium rare. The husbear had the Poc Chuc Yuacateco, which is a marinated pork dish. It was not what he expected but very good and he gave it high praise for flavor and presentation. Neither of us had any liquor, as I was driving home and he was meeting friends out. The bill was very reasonable, and especially so considering it's a resort town at high season. It was about what we'd expect to pay at home for very good fare. As much as we like the other two restaurants in town that server similar cuisine, we have to give this place the nod for Norteno Mexican cuisine (absolutely not Tex Mex). This is well suited to families and large groups. However, if you have a screaming baby - please take your child outside. That's just being courteous wherever you are. Parking is still tight and you'll need the Parkmobile pay app to use the meters unless you like carry rolls of quarters. This is in zone 88133. and at the end of a dead end street by the Penny Lane Arcade.

Awful service, Waiter was rude and had a bloody finger with a gross nasty bandage. Was pretty dirty, Chips were stale and food took forever to come out. When i asked how much longer our food would be our waiter was extremely rude. Had to ask multiple times to refill drinks. Food was okay but really not worth the service and long wait.

My daughters favorite restaurant. She loves the nachos but she really LOVES the plantains. The rest of us love the fajitas. The sangria is also very refreshing. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the the fajita meat is sometimes fatty.

This is one of our favorites restaurants in Rehoboth! Authentic meals that are home-cooked. The service is the absolute best in Rehoboth. Most of the staff have been there for years and recognize us when we come. (and we only get to go twice maybe three times a year when we are on vacation). We love their Sunday brunch. Drink menu is awesome (coconut mojito or jalapeño margarita). Large portions and reasonably priced. I can't wait to go back! See you in August

Not like the ad I got, in my hotel I got the card menu from this restaurant , we went and not the same menu , not any dish served look that the pictures posted here, and there were flies everywhere , I went to other restaurants in the area, and no one had flies, there is no excuse for that. The tamales are the worst I've ever try.

My wife and I wandered the area and boardwalk July 16, 2014. Since I am gluten free, we are somewhat limited in choice of restaurants (not much for me in an Italian or Chinese restaurant these days, unless they do gluten free pasta and do not coat meats in wheat flour or stock gluten free soy sauce, respectively, we looked for something different. We had never before been to Mariachi but we looked at the outside menu and I found one of my favorite dishes, Pescado Veracruzano. We dined upstairs, with an open air view looking down on the colorful "Penny Lane." My wife had the Santa Cruz salad. An excellent, fresh, salad that included two of MY favorite "extras," hearts of palm and avocado. The salad was topped with particularly good grilled chicken. I had the Pescado Veracruzano, which - as mentioned above - is one of my favorite dishes from a restaurant in Takoma Park, MD - El Golfo (reviewed separately). Turns out that the owner, Yolanda, of Mariachi is related to the owner of El Golfo and knows it well! The Pescado, or fish, is fresh water trout. It is probably pan sauteed and then covered with a tasty, but NOT HOT (Mexican food does NOT have to be hot), Mexican sauce of fresh veggies cooked together with sliced olives and a touch of tomato base. The fish is served with steamed broccoli and Mexican rice with a side of black beans. While my fish was slightly overcooked (I will give it another try next visit to Rehoboth Beach), I cannot fault it otherwise and the chef was probably busy taking care of a party of around 20 kids downstairs (we never heard them upstairs). What was notable about everything on my plate, and the side bowl of black beans, NOTHING was horribly salty. All too many restaurants believe that food must be salty to be good. The food was reasonably priced and served with decent sized portions. The service, provided by Yolanda's son, was superb. We were well cared for and looked after. We had a delightful chat with Yolanda, who shared the secrets of making the fish dish with me. If you are visiting Rehoboth Beach, whether you are a resident of the area of a Summer tourist, have meal here, you will not be disappointed

Awesome awesome awesome! Had Seafood Fajita special with sangria margarita. Be patient with any seating delay, you will not be disappointed. Our food came so quickly after ordering. Great atmosphere on the shaded deck. Definitely recommend this place for all ages

I have to give a special kudos to the poor waiter who had to suffer me and my drunk friends. He was a true professional. Service was a bit slow for a Sunday night (the kitchen took way too long for our meals given the crowd and the holiday weekend), but the waiter really made up for everything. He was entertaining, patient, attentive, and entirely tolerant of our drunk misconduct. Owning that I was drunk and my recollection of the meal is fuzzy at best, I remember that it was a lot of food, that the food hit the spot, that the prices were shockingly low, and that we all went home completely satisfied. I don't know that a restaurant can hit it out of the park any more succinctly than that.

We had the Jalapeño Margaritas which were very good, not too sweet, but not overly spicy either. Service was very good, one of our kids spilled their drink and we tried to clean it up and they went out of their way to have us sit and relax. I had carne asada Mexicano which was delicious, guacamole Was very good with a kick to it. My wife had a steak dish with jalapeño and my kids had seafood enchiladas and chimichangas and they thought they were great. Definitely not a tourist trap, would go there again.

This is by far the most authentic and delicious Latin restaurant in the area. If you are looking for more than just the usual tex-me fare, this is the place to try. We had the ceviche which was done just right. The Chicken Lime soup was perfect for our toddler and the pork dishes are very flavorful! We will be back! P.S this place is also open during the off season!

  • Alex M.

Food on the whole was pretty good. The fajitas were tasty, but the fixings that vane with them were fairly standard. Staff was friendly and incredibly helpful. Big reason they didn't get a 5 ed simply that they move people through so quickly. It was a bit abrupt. Then again that could be considered a huge plus.

Sit upstairs for great ocean and people watching, or down stairs in AC comfort. The Seafood Enchilada is the best dish in my opinion, but I have not ever had anything that was not absolutely wonderful . Chicken & lime soup, fajitas, steaks, salads, plantains....huge menu with lots of choices. Something for everyone. They go out of their way to accommodate their customers and are truly passionate about their food, and it shows. Homemade sangria--yes! Even if you have to take home some of the large portions to save room for desert. Save room for desert. The chocolate mousse is to die for--home made fresh daily. Also the triple cream cake is luscious. Every table gets hot chips and salsa complimentary. Mariachi is open and busy year round because they are so awesome. If you are lucky try to score some of the free parking on the right side of the building.

Place was packed, so our reservations went out the window. We took the advice of the hostess and hung out at the bar on the first floor for about 20 minutes. We were then told to wait at the bar on the 2nd floor. When we got there, a rude staff member told us we were going to have to wait, as all those sitting at the bar had yet to be seated (they didn't have reservations). We went down and spoke to the manager who had taken our reservation over the phone. Table was set up for us within a few minutes. Food and drinks were great, and the places was very inviting. We will be visiting again next summer, but we won't rely on reservations.

Over the years this is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always good, while being creative with spices and tasty sauces. The staff is attentive and the manager/owner was very careful about our needs. This restaurant is the best of the Mexican Spanish restaurants on Delmarva.

  • Vickie S.

Great time! Believe the reviews! It's a good amount of food, and it's delicious. Mmm tomatillos. (The Plato Verde was great. Even the saffron rice. And it's a lot of food.) The drinks are super quick and tasty. Not sure I'd call it authentic. I would totally go again, though. Our service was friendly and fun. She accommodated our pregnant friend with her own "cocktails" glasses of juice when the rest of us had sangria or "Love Potions". The sangria wasn't the best I've had, but it wasn't overly sweet like many restaurants, and the citrus inside was a nice bit of tang. The view is lovely from the balcony. You can see the ocean and people watch the beachcombers on the street. The first floor sunroom area on the street is also great for that. Parking was a godsend.

THIS PLACE WAS SO GOOD! I made a reservation for 4 just to make sure we wouldn't have to wait, and could sit on the balcony. I was looking for restaurants with an ocean view, and searched online. Do not be fooled however, it is not really an ocean view. Sure, you can see the ocean from the balcony, but it is definitely not facing the ocean. A nice view however, overlooking the cute streets of Rehoboth. We all ordered something different. I ordered the Santa Fe Platter (Chile Relleno, Chicken Enchilada and Chicken Tamale). Others in my party ordered the quesadillas, fajitas, and a beef dish that the waiter suggested, I think it was the Carne Asada. I really liked my dish - especially the enchilada. The beef dish my dad ordered was definitely the best - really flavorful. This was probably the best Mexican I have ever had. Our server was really attentive and funny and friendly as well. A must-stop when in Rehoboth.

Family Unfriendly: We're locals but hadn't been to Mariachi with our kids before. First bad sign was when Oscar, our server, tried to upsell us on our margaritas. Then our food came out late and it was lukewarm at best. Kids meals come with ice cream but Oscar never offered it (so we decided to go to our favorite ice cream place instead). Final straw was when Oscar literally pulled the chair out from under my son and told me he had a 5-top on the way that needed our table. I've never been treated so rudely. We are pretty forgiving people but that was the final straw. We won't be going back.

Great restaurant with excellent service. We are there about two weeks ago while in Rehoboth and the food was amazing. The prices were not bad and the owner came out to chat with us. She brought us some special hot sauce which was great but VERY HOT! The atmosphere is casual, not dressy or formal. Very relaxed dining. If you are in Rehoboth and looking for some good Mexican food definitely try this restaurant.

It was a busy Saturday evening around 7:45pm when we arrived at this restaurant near the boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach. I called ahead for a reservation and had a party of 9. We waited about 5 mins for our table and was waited on pretty much immediately. Even though there were 2 other very large tables also just seated (they were even larger than our party), drink orders came quickly and the server(s) returned in enough time where no one really didn't have to go without a drink (in between drinks). The only complaint we had was the long wait for our meal which took about an hour (but we somewhat understood since no kitchen would be able to handle the large party orders simultaneously without some delay). However, when the food did arrive, it was delicious. Everyone in my party said it was worth the wait and that they would return. The food did not taste like a commercial/chain mexican restaurant. It tasted very fresh. So I would recommend this restaurant to others as well as return myself.

The hostess despite problems arise while working should have not let it affect her mannerism toward new patrons. However my waiter was very attentive and friendly. The sangria was fabulous. The seafood enchilada was warm, tasteful and yummy. The chocolate mousse was somewhat dry and tasted as if it came from a box, not from scratch.

Excellent food. Try the seafood fajitas. Superb. The salsa is almost like gaspacho delicious!!! The kids Bubba, Conrad, and Lori loved the chimichanga. The beer was not cold...The second one was. Muy good! Don't be a Chachi ...try Mariachis

I was so excited to come here after reading all of the good reviews. The staff was very nice, but the cleanliness is not here. My boyfriend pulled a grain of rice off his fork that was crusted on when we sat down. There were a ton of flies in the restaurant. I was served a glass of water with a bug in it. One of the plates had some green veggie crusted on the side of it. Dirty plates with food crusted on them are a pet peeve of mine. The food was okay. Kind of greasy. Would not go back though. When I go out, I expect to be given clean plates and silverware.

Wow. And then I had dinner here..... Pueblo Platter w Carne Asda and a chile rellano was the best Mexican I've ever had. $16. Amazing! Waiter recommendation. Great margs, again, also.

Excellent Mexican food. The shrimp fajitas were so tender and seasoned perfectly. The shrimp were cleaned exceptionally well - no black veins, etc. The guacamole was very good. Oh and the peach mojito was very refreshing. The only thing that could be improved was the salsa - it was bitter.

Food was wonderful both for a preview lunch and a non-rehearsal night-before-wedding gathering of about 40 people who wandered in at different times. Yolanda and her crew are laid back, pleasant, and accommodating. The menu is huge and it's easy to find something for everyone! We will definitely go back! (One of the reasons we chose Mariachi, besides the short walk from our hotel) was that we knew the 2nd floor open porch would allow some of our hard-of-hearing guests to feel comfortable - it did, though of course some of our other guests were 'the loud people!')

Loved eating on the outdoor upper terrace. Service was friendly, prompt and accurate. Food was flavorful and cooked to order, would highly recommend seafood paella and carne asada. The jalapeño margarita was strong and spicy. The owner was even gracious enough to let our family use a coupon that had expired but we were not aware of the expiration. We will definitely return for good food and friendly service.

What got me into the restaurant was the fact the offered Peruvian food. We got a table on the balcony that had a nice view. Sangria was pretty good as was the Lomo Soltaldo. Will be back again to try other offerings.

So apparently the Host staff plays favorites. Ignores reservations to honor friends who randomly show up. We were ignored in line because the recognized friends were just behind us.

We went to this restaurant our first night in Rehoboth. We called ahead for a party of nine, and we were immediately seated when we arrived. Very family friendly, large menu, good portion sizes, and great service.

Dinner party for 35 at Mariachi last evening. There is absolutely no room for improvement. It was perfect! thank you Yolanda for your smiling face and professional execution. Thank you Patrick and the other staff. We enjoyed a delicious three course meal inclusive of soft refreshments and gratuity for $24 per person and we got far more than our money's worth! Beautiful, food, patio, service. And all left satisfied and in a great mood!

Food and location was good but building needs upkeep. Went for lunch and had to walk through restaurant that was dark and empty to follow sign to upstairs patio. Prices were high for amount of food given, but at the shore so expect double. Overall it was ok but we won't be repeat diners.

As a vegetarian, there were many options for me. The cheese enchiladas I ordered were excellent. The flan we got for dessert was a bit dry. The service was great. The seating was a bit crowded on the main floor.

The Mariachi has a few things going for it, such as its location near the boardwalk and a block from the main drag, but food is not one of them. The menu seems to indicate that diners will enjoy good Mexican food, good Spanish food, and imaginative treatments, but what you get are routine tamales, average guacamole, standard drinks, and no creativity to speak of. You won't mind eating here, especially if you get a table on the second floor patio, but you won't rave about it either.

The Service was Excellent! We had a great waiter named Oscar who helped me step outside my comfort zone to order the Pescado Criollo....when he found me picking at the plate he knew I didn't care the dish....they was just 'something' about the trout that didn't agree with me. He insisted on replacing my meal with a new meal! After hesitating, feeling awkward and a little embarrassed I selected Chiles Rellenos a tried and true favorite. Oscar explained part of his job was to make certain I left happy and full, and not to feel uncertain about returning. After he removed my plate the owner came over and was very kind and and echoed the service they wish by pleasing the customer, providing delicious food and hopefully to share with others. We will return....but I will stick to my favorites. :)

Delicious food!! Mussels came with a thick soup- smells magnific! Giant meal of shrimp with saffron rice and veggies in a great sauce. HUGE portion of ceviche for $9.99 - very impressed with how many chunks of fish I got.

We returned for two dinners at the Mariachi restaurant in July 2013. Jose Perez and Yolanda Pineda's cuisine and service continue to delight in 2013! How do they maintain the great food? The pupusas are outrageously good! The masitas de puerco is heaven! The chile rellenos are great with fresh poblano peppers; not those wet, droopy canned peppers you find in other restaurants. They really love their guests! Yolanda's warm, vivacious personality fill the joint with love. You can feel her heart and passion in the food. Really, we dined at a table near the lobby/waiting area. She makes everyone feel so welcomed! You can't resist giving her a big hug when she greets your party! Tip: their special house hot sauce is in the stratosphere hot and mui deliciosa! Warning: not for the faint of heart!

This was our second time dining at Mariachi. We were big fans when we discovered it last year because we were hankering for some good Mexican food at the beach. I don't know if it was better last year, or if it was just our excitement over finding a new place, but the food wasn't as good as I had remembered it. The salsa was fresh and tasty, but the chips were stale. We both had the plato verde: cheese enchiladas with tomatillo sauce and a guacamole taco. The rice and beans were really good, but the cheese in the enchiladas was a little too thick and rubbery for my liking. It made the meal sit really heavy in our stomachs. It was still an enjoyable meal, and it's likely we'll be back again in the future.

Flavorful dishes and some Salvadoran treats! The pupusa appetizer is very nice. Smaller sized, but great flavors. The Sopa de Lima is wonderful, broth has a ton of flavor. The enchiladas feature the meats shredded. Several good vegetarian choices as well. Weekends feature a brunch menu.

Excellent food and the beef dishes actually have beef and not hamburger like Dos Locos! Good service, reasonable prices and outdoor seating. Win, win, win.

Ordered the ceviche, the fish was tough and seemed a bit old. The carne Asada was very good and they cooked it exactly as I ordered it. Very friendly people but the food prices are too high. You can find cheaper in the area with like quality.

Excellent food at affordable prices. We started with queso fundido - how can you go wrong with meat and cheese? We both had the fajitas for our entree - he had beef and chicken while I had chicken and shrimp. Full of flavor and served with greAt sides.

My take as a vegetarian: Interesting selection of veggies in the fajitas. Normally I would expect a health dose of generously sliced pepper and onion. You know the veggies that come with fajitas. Maybe a bit of mushroom for "meatiness" and something seasonal like summer squash. What I got was A LOT of carrots, broccoli, and gnarly celery. Something I would expect from a "healthy" Midwestern side dish. I think there might have been a two pieces of green pepper which appeared to be paper thin, likewise with onion. There was a weird sweet liquid (pineapple juice?) that seemed to accompany the veggies, and a lack of other seasoning. I had to add salt and request some hot sauce just to make me feel like I was eating at a Latin American restaurant. It came with store bought tortillas, passable rice, pretty decent black beans, and a spicy but otherwise under seasoned guacamole. Perhaps they can pick up a vegetarian Latin American cookbook for some basic pointers. It was a Saturday night so it was crowded but I was seated promptly a party of two. Service was decent, I saw the guy was working hard with some bigger parties but he still saw to making sure we got equal priority. The patio was pleasant.

We wanted to sit on the rooftop balcony seating, but it was a cold windy October evening, I had hoped this wouldn't take away from the experience, and it didn't. This place was awesome. First we ordered drinks. I had a Margarita and wife ordered a long island iced tea. The owner ( i didn't get her name ) noticed she wasn't drinking it, and asked if she liked it. It was a little strong. The owner brought her out a mojito for free. Awesome! We had our basket of chips and some of the freshest most delicious salsa I've had. And we ordered Papusas appetizer, pork filled gorditas. That was very good. I ordered Shrimp and steak fajitas and wife got a deep friend enchilada (Chimichanga?) and both were absolutely fantastic, I wanted to go back the next day. Our server (Katie) was outstanding and attentive and overall just very friendly. The service between her and the owner was 5+ stars. 25% tip, and I'll be returning next time I visit Rehoboth. Location is also great. You can see the ocean from the rooftop seating.

Good food, nice people, great place for a family or for good food and drink. The food included a number of different dishes from Mexico and Latin America as well as the traditional American adaptations and would rate 4 stars while the margaritas were okay but I would give them 3 stars. Overall, it's a restaurant where I would definitely return so I'll bump it up to 4 stars as a great casual restaurant in Rehoboth Beach where you can get a nice meal with friends or family and not break the bank.

We came to Mariachi for dinner and I had fairly high expectations after seeing Jeff's glowing review from his previous experience here. My expectations were met! ~From the moment we stepped in, were greeted and seated, everything was really great. Our server was awesome. He was super friendly, really great at describing the features and making them sound irresistable. He was a hoot and fairly easy on the eyes ;-). For drinks, I had a mojito, Jeff had a caipirnha and Michelle had the red sangria (and later ordered the white sangria). My mojito was delicious and packed just enough punch for this 1 and done Asian chica. We were starving by the time we got here so we pretty much devoured the chips and salsa. We also ended up ordering some queso which was also quickly demolished. The chips were light and crisp and the salsa was quite fresh and cilantro-ey enought for me. The queso was alright. Michelle got the carne asada, Cadence ordered enchiladas while Jeff and I ended up splitting some sort of sizzling meat platter which consisted of pork, chicken, beef and chorizo. There was also some ruffage on there; grilled onions, peppers and tomatoes. We each received our own plate with tortillas, diced tomatoes, sour cream, guac, rice and beans. The meats were well seasoned and were really quite tasty. This is a great option for carnies out there. It's definitely filling but it didn't feel like a heavy, gross sort of full. Well, we didn't feel heavy and gross full until we ordered the tres leches cake. Oh yes. Somehow we squeezed in this delightful cake in our stomachs. It was delicious. I was full, but I kept eating til it was gone. A great find in Rehoboth; I'd love to return here on future trips to the beach!

3 stars for food. 1 for service. I don't really understand all the hype about this restaurant. The food was just OK. It wasn't horrible but definitely not super authentic Mexican or even fairly priced. I ordered the carne asada while my friend ordered chicken enchilada. I asked for the carne asada to be medium. It came out well done. Rice was puffy and overcooked, beans were bland, but the guacamole was good. My friend's enchilada was heavy. The cheese was too thick and rubbery and the chicken was dry. She said she felt sick afterwards -- as if the food just sat in her stomach. In all, not worth our $40 bill without drinks. However, if I wanted cuisine, I probably wouldn't be going to Rehoboth. I would consider going back to this restaurant IF our waiter Oscar wasn't such a jerk. He ignored us for 10 minutes before even giving us menus. My water was refilled once, while my friend's cup next to mine was ignored. So we shared my glass the entire time. I saw him when he brought our food and the check. We couldn't even find him to ask for anything. When the bill came, I asked him to put $X on my friend's card and to bring me back the change from my cash. We were planning to split the tip. Well, he never brought the change back and kept it for himself. He basically decided on his own tip. My pet peeve on that. I said thank you every time he brought us our meals, took our plates, gave our check, etc. Not once did he look at us or say anything back. Rudeness. So no, I'd rather go to subway before I eat here again. Forget the quality of food, I don't pay that much to get bad waiter service.

A pretty good, casual Mexican restaurant with free parking (a big plus for Rehoboth Beach). Still, if you've come to Rehoboth in part for the great food that's available here, there are better destinations. Everything was fine, and my trout and a companion's enchiladas were better than fine. Nothing else was all that memorable. Service was pretty good, if a little rushed.

For the price, this is a very good restaurant. Yes, I have eaten better but also paid a lot more. I had an appetizer, the pork stuffed Pupusas. One appetizer would not be enough if I was hungry but two would do it. My SO had the delicious marinated pork. By sharing her entree and sides, we had enough to eat. We had two margaritas each, no salt on rim, one on ice cubes and one crushed ice. Both drinks were potent but since we were walking back to the hotel it did not matter. The food was infused with flavor yet not to salty. Adding salt to hype the flavor seems to be common for less creative chefs; not here. The free pre-meal salsa was hot and flavorful w/o much salt either. The server was attentive w/o being overbearing. We did not feel rushed. There was a small dinner crowd. We had our choice of tables. The manager (perhaps owner) refilled my cubed margarita, gratis. She noticed I was sharing my SO margarita and came over and poured me another one. We did not know anyone was paying attention. This sealed the deal for me. We had paid the bill, $60 included a generous tip, before we were served the free drink. The table place setting is also pleasing. Go! Note: This is off season for this beach town. If the establishment had waiting customers, I would not be presumptuous and linger as long as we did.

Always the very best from Yolanda's warm welcome upon arrival to the dessert . The only way to improve on it is to make sure you come with a big group of friends so that you can order lots of different items and taste them all. I have to have the Cevechi to start and we are addicted to the Sopilla to end the evening. Just wonderful!!!

We have a place down in Rehoboth Beach and love the incredible selection of restaurants in town. Mariachi is by far our favorite. The food is ALWAYS amazing, the staff very friendly, and the cocktails always good. We enjoy the upstairs patio with the ocean breeze. We love to share this place with friends and family.

This is a great family restaurant. We enjoyed the food tremendously and will go back again next year when we visit again. Most of our party had the chicken fajita. I had the vegetarian burrito and it was all very good and tasty. My watermelon margarita was delicious! The service was great and very friendly. We happened to meet some people the next night and as we exchanged tips on where to eat they had had the same positive experience as we had when it came to Mariachi's.

Very authentic food! Oh and the margaritas, outstanding!!! We both enjoyed our meals. My husband had the Masetas de Puerco, tender chunks of pork in a Seville bitter orange sauce, wonderfully flavorful. I had the Lomo Saltado, tender thin slices of steak in the Peruvian sauce. Both were fantastic. My mother in law is spanish and I have been eating her flan for years, and have not until today found one that rivals hers. Their flan was a perfect mix of sweet custard, firm but not jello like, with the required carmelized sugar sauce. Very good and the service was very good, everyone was attentive and super friendly. Really good food!

Nice white tablecloths downstairs, but they forced us onto the upstairs "patio." The plastic tablecloth was disgustingly sticky. T.he food was OK I guess, but the only thing I remember about the place was the sticky plastic tablecloth. I guess that says something.

I ordered the masitas de puerco ( pork ) which was recommended by a lot of the reviewers here. Delicious. Meat was well cooked, moist and fab tasting. My husband ordered the trout which was also fabulous. For drinks we had the jalapeno margarita (a definite must) and the mango caipirinha (not so good - a little sour tasting for my liking) We went in on a Saturday evening around 9 pm. The restaurant was very crowded for that hour. The host didnt seem to be able to handle the people coming in. They didnt seem to have a system to seat waiting customers. Our waiter probably had too many tables on his hand and we didnt get any service for the first 20 mins, but once he got around to us, he was attentive after that and everything went smoothly from there on. I could see the owner lady buzzing about. She seemed to handle both the kitchen and the dining area (probably not a good idea on a busy night) but like I said the food was absolutely delicious. All the other mexican places I have been to pale in comparison! if you are in rehoboth, you have to go to Mariachi and Hooked seafood & Martini bar. These are two places not to be missed.

Simply mediocre. I knew when we walked to our table that this was not going to be a good experience, and we should have left immediately. The entrées I saw being served were simply not up to "four stars" or anything close. The guacamole was bland and under seasoned. The tomatillo sauce was bland and sparse. We waited for 20 minutes for our order to be taken. The one good point is that they served black beans on the side (if requested), which was helpful to me as a vegetarian. But the overall experience was not great. I can't believe all the good reviews here. It's just not remotely worth going to.

Food was excellent, fresh, and waitress Katie was very knowledgeable & helpful re my wife's gluten free request. Service was prompt & efficient. The salsa that came with the tortilla chips was also fresh & very flavorful. Definitely a 'win' at the beach!

Mariachi Restaurant is great! It is evident that the front of the house staff puts a major focus on service from start to finish. The food is consistent and very fresh. It's great for a casual dinner or a special occasion. If your there in the summer I suggest you venture upstairs and dine on the terrace. Enjoy!

Had dinner hear with the fam and was unimpressed. Got the Seafood Saltados and it was OK. The calamari was a bit overcooked but the scallops were done fine. The sauce was meh. Wife got the Seafood Fajitas. Again, meh. The Salmon was fine, the sauce was OK, but I've experienced better. I'm with a previous poster that the margaritas were made from a mix and were below average. Chips and salsa were meh too -- I'd say Chevy's has better and that's kind of a low bar. Our choices were very single-note and others have both raved and panned other dishes. It was unremarkable enough in those dishes that I'd be hesitant to try it again.

We visited Mariachi on a Sunday evening with reservations for 7 pm. Our introduction to this Hispanic fusion restaurant was chaotic. The hostess would not make eye contact with us and I had to tell her a couple if times that we had reservations. She was also avoiding others waiting for tables. The restaurant was busy and noisy. The food going by us was appetizing, but we weren't sure at first if we would be seated to try it. Once we were seated, service was friendly, but on the slow side. We were not in a hurry, however, so we didn't mind waiting for our pitcher of margaritas (delicious!) to be delivered. The six of us ordered salads to share (each salad easily served two). Ours was the house salad and ok (I'm not a fan of shredded lettuce-based salads). My seafood entree was delicious! It was a perfectly cooked medley of scallops, baby octopus, shrimp, squid, and mussels with a side of saffron rice. My husband had the seafood enchilada, which was also good. We shared the flan for dessert. I'd like to go back to see if the service was just off that night. There is a rooftop patio that might be quieter too. Lots of family groups were in that night, so it's family friendly, but this is not Taco Bell.

Very happy overall. I wasn't sure at first with a delay in seating, we put our name in and they forgot about us. My wife spoke with, who I can only assume was the manager and she sat us almost immediately. She took our drink orders right away and because we had 2 kids was very quick in taking our food orders. Although food speed was slow coming out. I think there was only 1 server in the place, but he was nice and did a fantastic job. I took the advice of another reviewer and ordered the masitas de puerco. It wasn't a large portion of food, that was ok for me though as i wasn't that hungry, but it was probably the best pork I have ever had!

Wow! We listened to the great reviews and went here on our trip to the beach, it was great! all the meals are extremely flavorful! Definitely would go back again! Only downside is the pricing, fajitas for about $20! Seems a bit overpriced, but they were the best fajitas i have ever had

    (4)
  • Jeff D.

A caution among all the rave reviews - there was an incredibly long delay last night. It wasn't our server's fault; she said things were so backed up in the kitchen and the stressed-out crew back there wasn't exactly welcoming her inquiries about the progress of orders. I felt sorry for her and still left a generous tip. I also didn't track the time we arrived but it was extremely long - my wife had walked home well before hearing "dinner is served," so picture what a lovely evening it was as I headed back solo with a bag holding our now carry-out order.

AAA+++ !!! I loved the salsa- so flavorful! I had the duck with green olives and my husband had the pork in corrilla sauce--simply amazing and the owner, Yolanda, is a fab hostess! I just read someone's review about a weird mojito- I had one and it was delicious and refreshing- as it should be and not at all weird. Also, we sat on the balcony with a very pretty view. Will def return!

My parents (who are my tough customer role models) absolutely love this restaurant, and I have to agree with them. They go there for dinner whenever they visit Rehoboth Beach, and whenever I make it back to Delaware, I am happy to get the opportunity to go too. The mussels appetizer is fantastic; my mother and I fight over the last drops of the gingery, garlicky sauce. I also like the ceviche. I always get the pescado alcapulco, which is trout in a cream sauce with scallops and shrimp. My father always gets the lomo saltado and says it's the best rendition of that dish he's ever had. Sopapillas are very yummy! Yolanda is a beautiful person and a real treat who knows how to make customers feel welcome and happy.

We visited on a busy Saturday evening. The owner greeted us at the door and we were quickly seated upstairs. The service was provided by a genuinely nice waiter at such a high level we tipped him 40%. The food was excellent and as I grew up in New Mexico I know a bit about Mexican food. This was authentic Mexican cuisine, not that Chi-Chi's garbage you most often get as Americanized Mexican. Home made salsa and guacamole, Chile Rolenos to die for and crispy sopapillias for dessert ( excuse my stupid iPads forced spelling errors). If you are looking for authentic quality Mexican food in Rehoboth give Mariachi's a visit.

A friend recommended Mariachi to me so I gave it a try last year. The waiter recommended the "Masitas de Puerco" (marinated pork with bitter oranges) my girlfriend had the "Seafood Enchiladas", both dishes were delicious. I returned for a second time this year and tried a fish dish that I can't remember the name of but I believe it was the " Pescado Alcapulco" which was excellent. Overall we had a pleasent experience and I'm sure I'll be back again this fall.

Superb! We've eaten here several times now and every lunch or dinner has been a stand-out. The food is reminiscent of a favorite place of ours in DC called La Fonda, which has been closed for many years. We were thrilled to find many of our favorite dishes on Mariachi's menu. We were there recently for lunch (it was an unseasonably warm day in April) and sat upstairs on the terrace. It was wonderful, relaxing, and the perfect way to spend a lazy early Sunday afternoon.

the wife starts talking about Mariachi's fajitas about a month before we head off to Rehoboth. the phrase "the best ever" is frequently mentioned. She's never disappointed. I prefer the parilla a la pechuga: the durango sauce is amazing. the moment you walk in the door, you are treated like family. we go twice a year and Yolanda and Patrick recognize us the second we walk through the door. truly one of the best on the beach. oh and for the love of all that is good and right... save room for sopapilla: it's the best on the planet!

Went with a friend for Sunday brunch. The charming host seated us upstairs on the terrace. My favorite table faces the ocean and Penny Lane Mall. In the shade of the terrace the heat of the day was just right. Our server was lovely and went to bat for us for brunch; we hadn't realized we were late. Very attentive, too. Pitcher of white sangria hit the spot ($24) along with my huevos florentine ($11). My English muffin was nicely toasted and they substituted potatoes for platanos. Platanos were nice and sweet. Delish. The entree also came with a side of fruit. This time it happened to be watermelons. All in all, good food, drink and venue.

    (3)
  • Carrie L.

Really delicious sangria but the food was only okay. My "salad" didn't actually have any lettuce in it, but was really salty and oozy with sauteed vegetables and cheese. I would like more fresh, crunchy vegetables in a salad, please. Well, the chips and salsa were pretty delicious.

I was very disappointed with Mariachi Restaurant. The food was tasteless, we ordered Apps thru dessert and didn't eat more than 1/4 of any of it! I'm more disappointed in myself than the restaurant because I ordered dinner after the bad app and dessert after the "why bother" dinner. The queso & chorizo was more like Velveeta and ground beef. Don't expect sizzling Fajitas they don't exist! We also ordered enchiladas & beans also boring and lacking flavor.

We checked this out on the last night of our vacation and we were really surprised at how many good reviews it got because we were not at all impressed. Basically, if you are looking for a cheap meal at the beach, this place is for you, but don't expect great food. Pros included friendly service and a view of the ocean... but in our experience, they ended there. Our drinks were meh, a margarita that tasted yellow from cheap bottled mixer and mojito that was just weird, but they were also cheap. Chips and salsa that were definitely not fresh, but again, they were free. None of the food had any spice and sauces tasted like old el paso from the can. The biggest shock to me was a chile relleno (my gauge of a mexican restaurant) that I almost confused with a really greasy tamale. The poblano was hidden in literally two inches of eggy batter. So to sum it up, we were not expecting an authentic, mind-blowing experience, but we were not expecting dry chicken, greasy-tasting food and sickeningly sweet drinks either. I don't know the area enough to recommend any better options for mexican food. On the upside, it was relatively inexpensive.

There are two words that tend to "sell me" on going to a particular restaurant.... queso and sangria. And since Mariachi had both, and Jeff had raved so much, i decided this had to be good. Definitely one of the best servers i've ever had. He was very overwhelmed, but still took great care of us! I opted to start with the red sangria, and used my "cute face" to get the table to go for the queso. I waas slightly disappointed in the queso cause really it tasted like velveeta... but hey its cheese so i'm not complaining! My meal was the carne asada... which was excellent. However, i was really disappointed because it came with guacamole and i LOVED it. My claim to fame is not liking it! But it was good! I was also disappointed that my dish did not have refried beans. Luckally Alicia doesn't like them, so i was able to eat hers. YUM! They were very good. For desert, i got White sangria which was even better than the red! YUM!! I would definitely come back here for drinks and queso and guac and refried beans and not to mention the carne asada. Overall it was an awesome experience!

Since I come to Rehoboth every year I can't believe Mariachi has been around for 3 years and I've never been until recently. We wandered in for my mom's birthday after seeing their ad in a magazine and weren't sure what to expect. We thought we were just going to a mexican place, but Mariachi isn't your ordinary tex mex restaurant. The atmosphere is open and airy, and it seems that on warm summer nights they open up all the windows. It's a notch up from casual, but not necessarily dressy. The menu is a blend of Mexican, South American, and Spanish dishes, and we found out that the owners are from El Salvador and were very friendly, walking around and talking with all the customers. It started off dead, but then got really busy later on into the evening. We came during the off season so I imagine it must get pretty crowded during the peak months. We started with some fried plantains that were simply perfection, and served with the most delicious sour cream I've ever tasted in my life. For entree, I ordered the Masitas de Puerco which is a Cuban pork dish with the most tender chunks of pork, in a bitter orange sauce. Absolutely outstanding. My mom got shrimp fajitas, which weren't on the menu but were happily prepared for her when we asked the waiter if she could get it. It's no secret that shrimp is one of my most hated foods, but my god was this shrimp gorgeous. I wish Alicia G had been there to photograph it because it was stunning in appearance, and from my mom's reaction in flavor as well. They offer tons of lunch specials, as well as Saturday and Sunday brunch, and weekly specials like $2 sangria and $3 margaritas on Thursday and Friday, and $5 tapas on Fridays and Saturdays. They also offer several items "for 2" like their paella, or the Spanish Parillada which is basically a giant sizzling platter of chicken, steak, pork chops, and chorizo, served like fajitas. Overall prices are about $15+ per entree so if you're looking for cheap mexican you may want to look elsewhere, but for some wonderfully prepared food blending south american and spanish flavors you absolutely must check out Mariachi. I cannot wait to return, and hopefully have a food photographer with me :)

Hidden jewel in Rehoboth Beach! Great authentic Mexican food and a wonderful/friendly owner that really cares. Brunch options are great and if you sit outside, upstairs, you can get a decent view of the ocean.

We stopped for dinner based on yelp reviews and were quite pleased with the food. Yes the place was crowded and we got there without a reservation. It did take them a while to attend to us, let alone get us seated but the food made it worth the wait. Once we were seated we were attended to on a timely manner. The waiter was also able to rush the kids order. Me & my wife had the combo platter and they were both really good. They also had a good selection of Vegetarian options. The place was loud and happening so i would definitely avoid it if you are looking for a romantic setup but for all other situations... this is great location.

Family friendly, margaritas, and beachy autentico! What more do you want? Two families of eight were seated within 10 minutes of a walk-in. Not bad, considering it was close to 8:00 pm by then. We started with a pitcher of the Millionaire Margaritas (followed by more pitchers later) for the adults - good thing we walked that night. These were not coyingly sweet and the tequila was not overwhelming. Overall a good balance. Our apps were tamales, very nicely done, nachos (not over the top), and pupusas, definitely made by someone's aunt (or so we envisioned). The entrees came out fairly quickly. The vegan among us enjoyed her vegetarian plate immensely, remarking how flavorful it was. The rest of us hankered down on the seafood-oriented entrees, and enjoyed them immensely. The waiter was very attentive and affable, adding to the enjoyment. Overall, a good evening, and a restaurant worth returning to.

Margaritas, chips, and salsa were decent. Combo dishes were just overly greasy, too heavy on the cheese and overall rather bland. Not the worst Mexican food I've ever had, but far from being "good".

Some of the worst and most bland food I've ever eaten. Inattentive waiter who just kind of sits in the back and waits for the door to ring notifying him someone has walked in.

This was a terrific place to eat and drink in Rehoboth. And the service was fantastic and friendly.

I was pleased to discover Mariachi on my first visit to Rehoboth -- the sister restaurant of my favorite Mexican restaurant in the MD/DC suburbs. The food is always tasty and the welcome warm. If you're a fan of flank steak, try the carne asada -- cooked to perfection with a great smoky flavor.

Our favorite place in Rehoboth! It's great for families or couples, great view up on their porch - you can see the ocean. The food is always fabulous and they have fresh, exciting cocktails. I got a fabulous blueberry mojito. Great service!! We've been going back each year for years.

This has to be one of my favorite places to eat when in RB. The boys & I were at the beach for the holiday weekend and we had to get some of the goodness Mariachi has to offer...seriously, there are a couple things on their menu that are ridiculously good! The food - The ceviche with tostones and mussels in ginger broth for appetizers are so delicious...and the seafood fajitas are the best I have ever had. There is a meat dish called masitas de puerco that might be the tastiest thing I have ever eaten. The food is not fancy, kinda of rustic homemade cooking...but oh so satisfying. The drink - spend a little extra and get the millionaire margaritas...Don Julio anejo with a splash of triple sec, Milagro agave nectar, fresh squeezed lemon & lime juice - it does not get better. These babies are hallucinogenic if consumed at the proper quantities. The service - funny enough, our waiter was named Ryan also. He may have been the best part of the experience. Maybe the best service I have ever had in any restaurant...regardless of how fancy. He was a serious pro...friendly, accommodating, expert knowledge...and really easy to look at. Most disappointing thing all night was that he wouldn't come home with us. Said it wasn't his bag...bummer. We were surrounded by people from DC, Baltimore, and Philly - most seemed to be talking about how this restaurant made the drive worth it. Do yourself a favor and get to Mariachi the next time your thinking of a beach weekend.

Went there on Easter Sunday for lunch and it was absolutely amazing. I enjoyed everything we ordered and wish I lived closer so I could go back again. Loved the free chips and salsa. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic. We got fried sweet plantains for an appetizer, which weren't greasy and had great flavor. Then we had two entrees, steak tacos and the chicken enchiladas. Both were so good! And you get plenty of food. I was so stuffed after leaving that I didn't even get ice cream on the boardwalk. Prices were incredibly reasonable, with the total with tax/tip under $40. Next time I'm in Rehoboth, I'm stopping again. This is better than some of the Mexican places I've paid top dollar for in Philly!

I agree with all the good reviews. I didn't have dinner, but brunch was incredible and the service even better. I'll be visiting Mariachi during my next stay on Rehoboth.

We chanced upon this restaurant in May 2006 or 2007, its opening weekend, and have enjoyed its inspired Spanish-style Mexican food ever since. The salsa is made with local semi-heirloom tomatoes, rather than the bland, colorless ones restaurants often use to cut costs. The salads and soups are unusual, and the main courses include very fresh black beans, guacamole, etc.. One caveat -- the entrees & apps can be on the spicy side if you're not into jalapeno peppers. The tres leches cake for dessert is supreme -- similar to an English trifle, but without the cherries. No longer bother getting tres leches cake anywhere else as I'll invariably be disappointed in comparison to my fav version here. The manager and hostess, Yolanda, is a gem -- very vivacious and gregarious personality who runs around as if on roller skates to offer extra chips, or drinks, or advice. She managed El Mariachi in Rockville (MD) for many years before the owners opened the Rehoboth location. Yolanda is knowledgeable about food, and about her customers. Generally, the ingredients are fresher than any other Mexican in Rehoboth Beach and beyond, and the tres leches dessert rivals patisserie in Europe -- it's that good!

Agree with Amy and was surprised at the glowing reviews because food was just average. Good tequila only helps the pre made margarita mix a little -shouldn't have bothered. I told the waiter I would have apologized to my guests if I served them roast chicken that dry - and that was supposed to be a specialty. Cheese enchilada was great but chile relleno just mediocre. Sit up on the balcony if you can as downstairs is very noisy. Service is good

This weekend we visited this restaurant. This was most tasteless Mexican food (if you can call it that) experience we've ever had. Any Mexican chain restaurant would seem a gourmet food compare to what they served to us. Pretentious inattentive service, dishonesty (they overcharged us for that Friday deal margarita and sangria and when we point it out said that they don't have this deal anymore, though just a minute ago we heard ourselves the other water was advertising this same deal to the next to us table) plus absolutely horrible but expensive food ruined one of our getaway evenings. I do not understand people who would pay this kind of money for that kind of food.

wife and i visited on 8/23. apparently it was rated #7 out of 30 or so rehobeth restaurants. we ordered mexican platters. positive - beef enchilada was real shredded beef and the beans were decent. negative- meat had absolutely no seasoning. the enchiladas had miniscule sauce. but based on the overall restaurant quality in rehobeth (which is terrible), this probably is #7.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
